There are two sets of tennis courts in Stanley Park. The main set of 17 courts is near the Fish House Restaurant(PERMANENTLY CLOSED). The second set of 4 courts is just off of Lagoon Drive at the end of Robson Street. From April to September there is a group, Tennis in Stanley Park, that offers lessons, reserved courts, and organized play.
Every summer, there is a big tennis tournament, the Stanley Park Open, that takes place in Stanley Park. This tournament has categorys for all ages and all levels of play.
Supposedly, the English Bay Tennis Courts were built over what was a World War II ammo depot. We really hope that they removed all the ammo before building the tennis courts! If you know anything about this, please let us know.
The tennis courts in Stanley Park are open from April to September 2018. The Leigh Wheeler Stanley Park Open Tennis Tournament will take place from July 6 to July 17, 2018.
There are 17 tennis courts just off of Park Lane near the English Bay entrance to Stanley Park. The lower 6 courts are pay courts that can be reserved. The remaining 11 are free courts that are first-come, first serve for 30 minutes. Note that during the Stanley Park Open tournament in July these 11 courts are not available for the public.
There are 4 tennis courts just off at Lagoon Drive (at Robson St.). These are all free courts that are first-come, first-serve for 30 minutes.

There is a Tennis Pro Shop in Stanley Park located underneath the Fish House Restaurant(PERMANENTLY CLOSED) at the English Bay Tennis Courts. It is open weekdays 3pm to dusk, weekends and holidays 9am to dusk. It sells tennis balls and accessories as well as renting racquets. Additionally, it has a stringing service. The cost to rent a racquet is $7 tax included per court booking.

The Leigh Wheeler Stanley Park Open Tennis Tournament takes play annually in July on the English Bay Tennis Courts in Stanley Park. It is one of the largest amateur tennis tournaments in North America! For 2018, it is on from July 6 to July 17, 2018. This tournament is organized by Tennis BC (Tennis BC)
There are categories for all ages and all skill levels which makes this tournament fairly unique.

To make a reservation for one of the 6 reserved tennis courts, call 604-605-8224 or go to the Pro Shop. You can book up to 1 week in advance for times on the hour or half-hour. You pay at the Pro Shop in cash prior to using the court. Bookings are cancelled automatically if it is wet. You can book courts for weekdays 3pm to dusk, weekends and holidays 9am to dusk. Cost is $14.50/hour including tax, cash only. They also do group court reservations.
The English Bay Tennis courts are located on Park Lane in Stanley Park. Enter the park from the Beach Avenue entrance then go a short distance and turn right onto Park Lane just after the Vancouver Parks Board Office building.
The Lost Lagoon Tennis courts are located on Lagoon Drive in Stanley Park. Enter the park via Barclay St. then turn right onto Lagoon Drive OR enter the park via Robson St. and turn left at Lagoon Drive.
