The Hollow Tree Picnic Area is a large grassy, treed area adjacent to the famous Hollow Tree off of Stanley Park Drive. There are no picnic facilities here and it is not reservable. It is a very quiet area with lots of big trees for shade. If you want a very quiet picnic this would be the place to go. There is only a small pay parking lot here so this area is not that easy to access. You need to bring in all your supplies, eg. food, drink, tables, chairs, etc.
Note: If you have a group of more than 50 people you will need a permit from the city.
The Hollow Tree Picnic Area is located on the west side of Stanley Park just off of Stanley Park Drive between Prospect Point and Third Beach. The famous Hollow Tree is located here. Across from the Hollow Tree are the remnants of the famous National Geographic Tree.
