There are many annual events that take place in Stanley Park such as the Polar Bear Swim, Vancouver Sun Run, BMO Vancouver Marathon, Easter Fair and Miniature Train, Stanley Park Open Tennis Tournament, Celebration of Light Fireworks and Festival, Vancouver Triathlon, Terry Fox Run, Halloween Ghost Train, and Bright Nights Christmas Train.
There are many one-time concerts, charity walks and runs, workshops, and Walking Tours that take place throughout the year in Stanley Park.
During the summer months, there are many weekly events in Stanley Park such as weekly dancing, weekly movies, and a weekly drum circle.
In 2018, there was a new 3 day Stanley Park Music Festival called Skookum music, food, and art festival at Brockton Point! This festival will not be held in 2019, but is expected back in 2020.

This is the 22nd annual Christmas lights display and Christmas Themed miniature train ride. There will be 3 million lights lighting up Stanley Park Junction in Stanley Park. The train ride costs money, but to view all the lights and displays is just by donation. Donations and part of the train ticket sales go to the BC Professional Fire Fighter's Burn Fund.

This is the 5th annual Big Elf Run which features a 1km Wee Elf Run for kids, a 5km Elf run/walk, or a 2 loop 10Km run/walk around Stanley Park. There will be Christmas decor, live DJ, dancing, and more. You must register for this event. Registration includes a customized elf name(by Nov 19), a momento, Elf toque, and Chip Time(5km/10km only)! Add-on available are a woolies set, fun pack and race kit mail-out option. 28th Annual First Half Marathon
This is an annual 21.1KM run by the Pacific Roadrunners starting/ending at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown. It goes down the seawall, into Stanley Park, then back again. Workshop: Creating Native Bee Houses
Hives for Humanity will lead us in creating Houses for Native Bees, including Mason Bees, as part of our continuing efforts to support pollinator well-being in the West End. You'll learn about the importance of native bees, native bee plant relationships, native bee life cycles, and honeybees vs. native bees. We'll decorate the native bee houses, which consist mainly of upcycled wood cut to assemble triangle shaped houses. Participants will hand roll tubes for the houses, and we may also create some houses out of pop bottles. Discussion on where to hang houses, what plants to plant nearby and what signs to look for, as well as after care instructions, will follow, and everyone who wants to will be able to take a bee house home with them!

This is a walk in the Shakespeare Garden in Stanley Park to discover many of the beautiful and unusual ornamental trees and plants in the garden. The tour guide will be Bill Stephen who is the Park Board Superintendent of Urban Forestry. Bill will also discuss some history of Stanley Park and how the Parks Board balances the demands of the public with the need for open green space. This event is part of annual Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival.

34rd Annual Vancouver Sun Run
The Vancouver Sun Run is an annual run that is one of the largest runs in the world. Upwards of 50 thousand people participate in this run. The main race is a 10k run that starts in Downtown Vancouver, goes down Robson Street, Lagoon Drive to Stanley Park Drive, then takes a left out of Stanley Park along Beach Avenue. The 10k run continues over the Burrard Street Bridge then over to the Cambie Street Bridge, ending at BC Place.
Additionally, there are walking, group, youth, and team divisions, and a mini 2.5K run.
Note: There will be Road Closures on Georgia St, Denman St, Lagoon Drive, Stanley Park Drive, and Beach Avenue for this event.

BlueShore Financial Mother's Day Run presented by the Westin Bayshore
This is an annual 3k, 5k, or 10k run or walk. All participants will receive a souvenir technical running shirt and gift bag. Moms will get a commemorative scarf at the finish line. There will also be a festival at the finish line with kid's activities, and champagne giveaways. This event is for everyone. The official charity is Make-A-Wish BC and Yukon.
The 3k route goes from Ceperley Park to Jack Poole Plaza along the Coal Harbour Seawall. The 5k routes goes from Ceperley Park around Lost Lagoon, then along the Coal Harbour Seawall to Jack Poole Plaza. Canada Day Fireworks at Canada Place
This is the largest Canada Day Fireworks display in Vancouver. The fireworks generally last about 20 minutes. The fireworks are set off from a barge in Coal Harbour. The fireworks can be viewed from Canada Place, the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre , along the complete Coal Harbour Seawall, the Stanley Park Seawall from the Vancouver Rowing Club to Brockton Point. Hundreds of thousands of people usually come to see the fireworks so it is very crowded especially around Canada Place.

SKOOKUM Music, Food, and Arts Festival
This is a brand new for 2018 large music, food, and arts festival that is planned for Brockton Point in Stanley Park. There will be multiple stages set up with multiple acts of various music styles. There will also be multimedia art works and roaming performers. The food will be gourmet. The festival will feature BC beers, wines, and spirits! Only 20,000 people per day will be allowed in for this first year in order to determine the logistics for future years. There will be related after-hour events in downtown Vancouver.

RBC GranFondo Whistler
The RBC GranFondo Whistler is North America's largest Gran Fondo (i.e. a mass participation cycling event). This event is a legacy of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. This is a cycling event where participants ride from Vancouver to Whistler on the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway in a dedicated car-free lane. This event draws over 4000 riders from over 40 countries. This ride starts in Stanley Park so there will be delays and traffic closures as the riders make it through the park and onto the Lions Gate Bridge.

Parkinson SuperWalk
This is a 2k and 5km walk/run and 10km run in Stanley Park to raise money for the Parkinson Society of BC. There will be a post-walk celebration thanks to Safeway. The 2k walk goes around Lost Lagoon, the 5k walk goes to near the Totem Poles and back along the seawall, and the 10k goes all the way around the Stanley Park Seawall.

35th Annual Vancouver Sun Run
The Vancouver Sun Run is an annual run that is Canada's Largest 10k Run. Upwards of 50 thousand people participate in this run. The main race is a 10k run that starts in Downtown Vancouver, goes down Robson Street, Lagoon Drive to Stanley Park Drive, then takes a left out of Stanley Park along Beach Avenue. The 10k run continues over the Burrard Street Bridge then over to the Cambie Street Bridge, ending at BC Place.
Additionally, there are walking, group, youth, and team divisions, and a mini 2.5K run.
Stanley Park Road Closures: Sunday April 14, 2019: for the Sun Run the Beach Avenue and Lagoon Drive entrances to Stanley Park will be closed from 6am to 11am. The Georgia Street entrance to Stanley Park will remain open. Expect delays and congestion!

This is the annual marathon. The full marathon race starts in Queen Elizabeth Park and goes out to UBC, then through Kitsilano, then along Beach Avenue, English Bay Seawall, and around the Stanley Park Seawall, then up Pender Street to the finish. BlueShore Financial Mother's Day Run presented by the Westin Bayshore
This is an annual 3k, 5k, or 10k run or walk in Stanley Park and Coal Harbour. All participants will receive a souvenir technical running shirt and gift bag. Moms will get a commemorative scarf at the finish line. There will also be a festival at the finish line with kid's activities, and champagne giveaways. This event is for everyone. Canada Day Fireworks at Coal Harbour
This is the largest Canada Day Fireworks display in Vancouver. The fireworks generally last about 20 minutes. The fireworks are set off from a barge in Coal Harbour. The fireworks can be viewed from Canada Place, the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre , along the complete Coal Harbour Seawall, the Stanley Park Seawall from the Vancouver Rowing Club to Brockton Point. Hundreds of thousands of people usually come to see the fireworks so it is very crowded especially around Canada Place.

You don't need to have a reservation for the free seating. The movies start after sunset weather-permitting. This is a family-friendly event so there is no smoking and no alcohol. You can bring your own lawn chair, picnic basket, and blanket if you want. They will have brand new blankets for sale. There are paid reserved seats closer to the screen and a dinner and seat option which includes a dinner at a nearby restaurant and your reserved seat.

Our City Ride
This is a non-competitive all inclusive mass participation ride. The ride starts and finishes at David Lam Park in False Creek. The ride goes counter-clockwise through Chinatown, Gastown (on Water St), then Coal Harbour (on West Pender St and West Georgia St), then through Stanley Park on trails, then along Beach Ave back to David Lam Park.

RBC GranFondo Whistler
The RBC GranFondo Whistler is North America's largest Gran Fondo (i.e. a mass participation cycling event). This event is a legacy of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. This is a cycling event where participants ride from Vancouver to Whistler on the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway in a dedicated car-free lane. This event draws over 4000 riders from over 40 countries. This ride starts in Stanley Park so there will be delays and traffic closures as the riders make it through the park and onto the Lions Gate Bridge.
