There is free weekly open-air dancing on Monday and Tuesday nights at dusk at Ceperley Park in Stanley Park from mid-June to mid-August(except long weekends) every year.
On Monday nights, it is Scottish Country dancing. On Tuesday nights, it is International Folk dancing.
Dancing in the Park is a summertime tradition in Stanley Park.
These events are free and open to everyone of all ages and levels. Instruction is provided.
Dancing takes place in Ceperley Park on the basketball court next to the playground with the fire engine.
Dancing takes place only if it is not raining as of 5pm of the day of the dancing.
Tip: Bring a pillow to sit on because the benches are hard concrete!
2022-04-25 UPDATE: It appears that the Monday night Scottish dancing will resume in 2022. The Tuesday night folk dancing will NOT be on in 2022 due to Covid.
On Monday nights from June 20, 2022 to August 15, 2022(EXCEPT Aug 1?) from 7pm-9pm, there is Scottish Dancing in Stanley Park. The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society-Vancouver Branch holds weekly dances from mid-June to mid-August at Ceperley Park in Stanley Park. This is lively dancing to Scottish music that includes pipes, drums, accordions, and fiddles. Each of the dance programs includes 'audience participation' dances for the young and old. Visitors are welcome. Kilts and tartans are optional!

2022-04-25: The Tuesday night dancing will NOT be on in 2022.
On Tuesday nights from June 18, 2019 to August 20, 2010(EXCEPT Jul 2, Aug 6) from 7pm-9:30pm, there is international folk dancing in Stanley Park put on by the Vancouver International Folk Dancers. This was new as of 2017. You will be lead in line and circle dances from Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. This is free and open to everyone, all ages, and all skill levels. Request Dancing is from 7pm-7:30pm, teaching from 7:30pm-9:30pm. No previous experience necessary.
