This is a list of all key dates of all the upcoming and past events taking place in Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 2021 today, tomorrow, and in the future, including a list of past 2019/2020 events. There are many annual events, seasonal events, one-time, and weekly events that take place every year.
There are many annual events that take place in Stanley Park such as the Polar Bear Swim, Vancouver Sun Run, BMO Vancouver Marathon, Easter Fair and Miniature Train, Stanley Park Open Tennis Tournament, Celebration of Light Fireworks and Festival, Vancouver Triathlon, Terry Fox Run, Halloween Ghost Train, and Bright Nights Christmas Train.
There are many one-time concerts, charity walks and runs, workshops, and Walking Tours that take place throughout the year in Stanley Park.
During the summer months, there are many weekly events in Stanley Park such as weekly dancing, weekly movies, and a weekly drum circle.

Annual Polar Bear Swim
Join the thousands of hearty swimmers or just go to see the costumes and watch the swimmers celebrate the New Year! This is a Vancouver tradition since 1920 when a few people started the tradition of taking a dip in English Bay on New Years Day. Over the year it has grown to have thousands of swimmers! There is also the Peter Pantages Memorial 100 yard swim race. Donations of non-perishable food or cash will be accepted by the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

This is an annual 21.1KM run by the Pacific Roadrunners starting/ending at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown. It goes through Yaletown then down the False Creek Seawall, English Bay Seawall, through Ceperley Park, past Lost Lagoon, then around the the Stanley Park Seawall, then back again via the English Bay Seawall and False Creek Seawall to the Yaletown Roundhouse

This is a walk in the Shakespeare Garden in Stanley Park to discover many of the beautiful and unusual ornamental trees and plants in the garden. 35th Annual Vancouver Sun Run
The Vancouver Sun Run is an annual run that is Canada's Largest 10k Run. Upwards of 50 thousand people participate in this run. The main race is a 10k run that starts in Downtown Vancouver, goes down Robson Street, Lagoon Drive to Stanley Park Drive, then takes a left out of Stanley Park along Beach Avenue. The 10k run continues over the Burrard Street Bridge then over to the Cambie Street Bridge, ending at BC Place.
Additionally, there are walking, group, youth, and team divisions, and a mini 2.5K run.
Stanley Park Road Closures: Sunday April 14, 2019: for the Sun Run the Beach Avenue and Lagoon Drive entrances to Stanley Park will be closed from 6am to 11am. The Georgia Street entrance to Stanley Park will remain open. Expect delays and congestion!

BMO Vancouver International Marathon
This is the annual marathon. The full marathon race starts in Queen Elizabeth Park and goes out to UBC, then through Kitsilano, then along Beach Avenue, English Bay Seawall, and around the Stanley Park Seawall, then up Pender Street to the finish. There is also a half marathon which goes Stanley Park(Beach Ave, North Lagoon Drive, Pipeline Road, Stanley Park Drive). There is also an 8k run which starts in front of the Fish House Restaurant(PERMANENTLY CLOSED) and does a similar route through Stanley Park as the 8k. Additionally, there is a kids run around Lost Lagoon.

BlueShore Financial Mother's Day Run presented by the Westin Bayshore
This is an annual 3k, 5k, or 10k run or walk in Stanley Park and Coal Harbour. All participants will receive a souvenir technical running shirt and gift bag. Moms will get a commemorative scarf at the finish line. There will also be a festival at the finish line with kid's activities, and champagne giveaways. This event is for everyone. The official charity is Make-A-Wish BC and Yukon.
The 3k route goes from Ceperley Park to Jack Poole Plaza along the Coal Harbour Seawall. The 5k routes goes from Ceperley Park around Lost Lagoon, then along the Coal Harbour Seawall to Jack Poole Plaza. The 10k route goes counter-clockwise around the Stanley Park Seawall from Ceperley Park then along the Coal Harbour Seawall to Jack Poole Plaza. Shuttles between the start and finish area will be available. The finish line festival is at the Westin Bayshore Hotel.

Canada Day Fireworks at Coal Harbour
This is the largest Canada Day Fireworks display in Vancouver. The fireworks generally last about 20 minutes. The fireworks are set off from a barge in Coal Harbour. The fireworks can be viewed from Canada Place, the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre , along the complete Coal Harbour Seawall, the Stanley Park Seawall from the Vancouver Rowing Club to Brockton Point. Hundreds of thousands of people usually come to see the fireworks so it is very crowded especially around Canada Place.

RBC GranFondo Whistler
The RBC GranFondo Whistler is North America's largest Gran Fondo (i.e. a mass participation cycling event). This event is a legacy of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. This is a cycling event where participants ride from Vancouver to Whistler on the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway in a dedicated car-free lane. This event draws over 4000 riders from over 40 countries. CANCELLED-36th Annual Vancouver Sun Run
2020-03-12: The Annual Vancouver Sun Run has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Vancouver Sun Run is an annual run that is Canada's Largest 10k Run. Upwards of 50 thousand people participate in this run. The main race is a 10k run that starts in Downtown Vancouver, goes down Robson Street, Lagoon Drive to Stanley Park Drive, then takes a left out of Stanley Park along Beach Avenue. The 10k run continues over the Burrard Street Bridge then over to the Cambie Street Bridge, ending at BC Place.
Additionally, there are walking, group, youth, and team divisions, and a mini 2.5K run.
Stanley Park Road Closures: Sunday April 17, 2020: for the Sun Run the Beach Avenue and Lagoon Drive entrances to Stanley Park will be closed from 6am to 11am. The Georgia Street entrance to Stanley Park will remain open. Expect delays and congestion!

2020-05-03: The Annual BMO Marathon has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
This is the annual marathon. The full marathon race starts in Queen Elizabeth Park and goes out to UBC, then through Kitsilano, then along Beach Avenue, English Bay Seawall, and around the Stanley Park Seawall, then up Pender Street to the finish. There is also a half marathon which goes from Queen Elizabeth Park to Stanley Park(Beach Ave, North Lagoon Drive, Pipeline Road, Stanley Park Drive). There is also an 8k run which starts in front of the Stanley Park Brewing Restaurant and Brewery and goese through Stanley Park. Additionally, there is a kids run around Lost Lagoon.

This is an annual 21k half marathon and 5k run by the Canada Running Series. The half marathon starts at UBC and finishes in Stanley Park. The 5k starts near Ceperley Field in Stanley Park, goes through Ceperley Meadow and counter-clockwise around Lost Lagoon, then back to the Seawall at Second Beach and along the seawall to the the bottom of Bidwell Street then back along Beach Avenue to the former Fish House Restaurant.

The RBC GranFondo Whistler is North America's largest Gran Fondo (i.e. a mass participation cycling event). This event is a legacy of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. This is a cycling event where participants ride from Vancouver to Whistler on the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway in a dedicated car-free lane. This event draws over 4000 riders from over 40 countries. This ride starts in Stanley Park so there will be delays and traffic closures as the riders make it through the park and onto the Lions Gate Bridge.

2020-11-04: This event has just been confirmed to be taking place this year! Christmas has not been cancelled!
This is the 23nd annual Christmas lights display and Christmas Themed miniature train ride. Due to Covid this event has been scaled back. There will only be the train ride and christmas lights from the parking lot to the train station. Donations and part of the train ticket sales go to the BC Professional Fire Fighter's Burn Fund.
Due to Covid-19, it will basically be the train. Masks are mandatory for all ages 3 and up. Tickets go on sale on November 6, 2020. Santa will not be visitings. You will need a ticket to enter the site. The site will be one-way from when you enter to the train then after the train to the exit. The Stanley Park Junction parking lot will be mainly used as a staging area for people waiting to get on the train. There will be limited disabled parking and a drop-off/pickup zone. Additional parking is across Pipeline road, Beaver Lake, and Information Booth parking lots. Parking is free at these lots after 3pm. Note that the Aquarium parking lot is a paid lot during this event. Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled train ride time. Trains will run every 20 minutes with limited tickets per train. The last train is scheduled for 9:40pm. There will be some food vendors in the parking lot.
Cost: $10 +GST(ages 3 and up), Children 2 and under are free.

2020-12-20: The Jan 1, 2021 Polar Bear swim has been cancelled due to the Covid restrictions.
Join the thousands of hearty swimmers or just go to see the costumes and watch the swimmers celebrate the New Year! This is a Vancouver tradition since 1920 when a few people started the tradition of taking a dip in English Bay on New Years Day. Over the year it has grown to have thousands of swimmers! There is also the Peter Pantages Memorial 100 yard swim race. Donations of non-perishable food or cash will be accepted by the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
